This video shows our Serval mum, Samia, with her 6 week old kittens. They are getting braver at exploring their enclosure now, with the reassuring licks and cuddles to encourage them from mum, Samia. Samia is never far away while they play fight or explore new areas of the enclosure, and she is very quick to step in if they seem slightly spooked by anything (such as noisy lions and tigers!). They seem to be getting even more bouncy by the day!

With three siblings around you can always find someone to play with, and sometimes find unusual, new objects placed in the enclosure to investigate.

Tamair a male amur hybrid tiger, 12ft long tugging his tree and dinner. taken by alex young at wildlife heritage foundation.

The kittens like to sit and watch the world go by, either from a hiding place in the bushes or from the top of their rocks, platforms and even their firehose hammock! You can see they are changing their fur colour as they get their adult winter coats, particularly the larger male kitten that is very ginger. Lots of claw sharpening going on, watch out Mr Vet man, they are getting ready for your next visit! They are also still working on their little mouthing actions, but it is still quite silent so far, rather than the little mumbling sound they should make when they chitter.

This video shows our Amur Leopard mum, Xizi, with her 13 week old cubs. The cubs are getting bigger and stronger now and are always on the lookout for mischief to get into! You can see in this video that in their play fights they are getting a little rougher with each other. It is lovely to see after they have played so madly that they cuddle up and go to sleep together, normally outside in their tree house, and not so often with their mum in the main house.

Meet two of the the newer residents at BCS (2011), two female Rusty-Spotted Cats, Chan and Nuwara. Female Rusty-Spotted Cats are the smallest of all cat species weighing in at less than a kilo! But these sisters are showing that they more than make up for their small size with their fiesty and lively personalities! They have finished their quarantine and have now moved into their new enclosure, and are having lots of fun investigating it.
